Specialized Aethos
With its old-skool slender frame, the Aethos looks straight out of a 1963 Tour de France report. This is also how the steel steeds of that era looked. Beautifully elegant thin tubes and a somewhat less sloping frame than the models you usually see on the market.
The comparison with those times soon ends when you take the frame in your hands. With only 585 grams on the scales, the frame is bizarrely light. So light that a complete S-Works Aethos remains well below the UCI's 6.8kg weight limit.
Judging by the shape, it looks like a very floppy and fragile frame, but nothing could be further from the truth. The Aethos is amazingly stiff for such a light frame.
If you are looking for a light, all-round bike that is very suitable for hills or mountains and also dips fantastically over cobbles and cobbles, then the Aethos is a very good choice!
