Nothing is faster than the Tarmac SL8. We have designed the ultimate combination of lightness, aerodynamics and ride comfort. After eight generations and more than 20 years of development, we now present the new Tarmac SL8 - the world's fastest road bike. Are your legs ready?
Good aerodynamics and low weight don't win races - speed is all that matters. So we set to work to create an uncompromising combination of aerodynamics, minimal weight, stiffness and flexibility. Our Ride Science team ran simulations - based on data from real races - and discovered that the Tarmac SL8 is the fastest road bike ever for the races that really matter. Imagine: 16.6 seconds faster over 40km, 128 seconds faster during Milan-San Remo, 20 seconds faster to the top of the legendary Tourmalet.

- AERODYNAMICA IN EVERY DETAIL: We make things aerodynamic where we can - not just where it looks good. So now we have created our most aerodynamic road bike ever. Yes, even more aerodynamic than the Venge. Thanks to the new Speed Sniffer, the air is used optimally to gain maximum advantage. We have also moved the steerer tube - the tube that determines the width of the head tube - backwards. This has allowed us to make the leading edge of the head tube much sharper, which in turn leads to much lower drag. The Tarmac SL8 also has the most aerodynamic seatpost we have ever made (in line with the UCI's new rules), allowing fast-moving, 'dirty' air around the legs to flow back more cleanly. Another win is lovely, right?
- MINIMUM WEIGHT, MAXIMUM AERODYNAMIC: For the Tarmac SL8, we learned from the Aethos, making it meet the UCI's minimum requirements while being maximally aerodynamic. The team has built a frame with an unprecedented low weight of 685 grams - 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other bike on the World Tour.* Compared to the Aethos, the down tube, seat tube and rear of the bike are now a lot lighter. The shape of the frame carries the weight so efficiently that additional carbon stiffness layers are no longer necessary. *Except of course that time Kasper Asgreen rode a Tour stage with a 585-gram Aethos frame.
- GOES LIKE HELL, RIDES LIKE HEAVEN: Thanks to a huge improvement in stiffness-to-weight ratio - over 33% compared to the SL7 - the Tarmac SL8 takes legendary handling, aggressive responsiveness and extraordinary geometry to the next level. The bike is stiffer at the pedals, steers more accurately and combines these features with a smooth ride for optimal comfort. Thanks to our 'Rider-First Engineering', everyone, regardless of their height, benefits from the same unprecedented ride quality and characteristics. On a rough road surface, the Tarmac SL8 6% absorbs more shocks, making you seem to float over the road. The Tarmac's tried-and-tested geometry and 32 mm tyre width option are identical to those of the SL7, making it easy to switch to larger-volume tyres when needed.
