Etxeondo SHORT BREAK ORHI HYDRO Lined

The Orhi Hydro cycling shorts are the result of input from our professional cyclists. They know the difference between winning or losing and that it often depends on small details. When riders have a cold and rainy race ahead of them, they need a garment that maintains body temperature but is also light and comfortable. If that garment also has water-repellent properties, they know victory is one step closer.

We chose the soft, lightweight Thermosystem Hydrorepellent fabric, modified with the addition of a revolutionary new ultra-thin layer of water-repellent material, which provides extra protection in wet weather without compromising thermoregulation and breathability. To maximise water resistance, we reduced the number of seams and even opted to remove the embroidery at the back of the shorts.

The lightweight fibres dry quickly, and the high elasticity and longer leg means the trousers offer protection up to the knee on rainy and cold days.

We chose the Urraki chamois, the same chamois used by our professional riders. Urraki is a masterpiece of textile technology, developed by Etxeondo using a combination of visco-elastic pieces of varying density, carefully placed inside the trousers to maximise protection and comfort. As with all our chamois, we do an antibacterial treatment and use no glue or prints to avoid allergic reactions or extra heat build-up.

Reflective panels increase visibility and safety on the road in low-light conditions.
