The Sram GX Eagle rear derailleur offers the same advanced technologies as the much more expensive XX1 Eagle derailleur, but at a more accessible price. The main difference lies in the use of aluminium instead of carbon, which lowers the price without compromising performance. Thanks to the larger 12-speed cassette, the derailleur has gained a longer cage, ensuring better chain tension and smoother shifts. The lower derailleur wheel has also been modified, from 12 to 14 teeth, contributing to better power distribution and chain guidance. Furthermore, the Roller Bearing Clutch technology has been refined, which provides more constant force over the full stroke of the cage, and helps to keep the chain in the correct position even in tough conditions. This makes the GX Eagle rear derailleur a reliable choice for both recreational and serious mountain bikers.
