The amount of available muscle glycogen is a performance determining factor for long-term and intermittent efforts at high intensity. Before an effort, an athlete should therefore store as large a supply of carbohydrates as possible in his body and take in additional carbohydrates during exercise. The Etixx Natural Oat Sport Bar is suitable for both before and during exercise. Before exercise, it can be used to maximise carbohydrate stores. Combine it with a carbohydrate-rich diet in the build-up phase to a race or heavy training block so that you have sufficient fuel. It is also important to take additional carbohydrates during prolonged or high-intensity exercise to replenish fuel stores. If no carbohydrates were taken during prolonged efforts, muscle glycogen reserves would be depleted after about 90 minutes. The amount of carbohydrates you should take during exercise depends on the duration of the session or race. - Efforts 1-2 hours: 30 g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise(about 1 bar). - Efforts 2-3 hours: 60 g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise(approx. 2 bars). - Efforts 2.5-3 hours: up to 90 g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise(approx. 3 bars). The Etixx Natural Oat Sport Bar provides long-lasting fuel supply and is therefore suitable for intake during competitions of endurance athletes or team and racket athletes. This energy bar can also be useful for athletes completing intensive training sessions of several hours.
